Corrine's been jittering for three hours now. She got up this morning with today's goal in mind, but it wasn't until a few hours ago that the giddy-stupid set in.

When did this happen again? Her initial effort had been to turn the TV off, leave the couch for the first time in two days, and go see Sand. Every time she went for the door something in the mirror stopped her. Those three hours are now behind, and she still hasn't figured out what to wear... or do with her hair, or anything, really.

Crap. She sucks at this.

She's going as she is and that's final! The little nag in her head shuts up.

Okay. She can do this. All the way to his door, and even knocking. She laughs at herself because the thought at the last second is she should've worn a different shirt.

As she knocks, the door opens...door had been slightly ajar.

There's no one in the room at the moment. In fact, the only thing that showed the room had been lived in recently is a "Entertainment Weekly" magazine on the mantle and a small box on the corner of the dresser.

Hm. He really hasn't been doing much more than working. She peeks the door open a little more, hesitant whether to go in or not.

A peek, right? Not much to see. Corrine creeps over to the magazine, turning her head to read the different teasers on the cover. Pfft. Like we need more zombie movies.

The box. The box. Her head turns like she's reading something on the top of that, too. A hand reaches out and she tips it open.

!!!!

She snaps it shut and puts it rapidly back down. For a second, she can't decide whether to stay or go. She attempts another peek.

!!!!

The top page of the magazine rustles up in her wake. She slams the door and leans against the outside frame, grinning.

Just in time for the room's occupant to round the corner. He sees her and smiles. "Hi, hon."

Corrine's not going to let anything slip. Anything? Nothing! She saw nothing! Instead, she sweeps her arms around Sand's neck and pulls him in for a very happy kiss.

"Hey, baby. Got work, or can I safely kidnap you for a while?"

Sand glances towards the door ever so briefly before being consumed with a kiss. "Definitely kidnappable." Sand says, smiling, before arching an eyebrow at her.

"That door was open when I left." He's smirking.

"Busted! I peeked inside. Y'know, make sure it was really empty," she admits. It's not a fib!

She wraps her arms around his waist, hugging him close and declaring a triumphant, cartoon-y "mine!". She looks up at him. "But you're here now so I guess I don't have to be disappointed."

Sand looks at her. She's got the cute dialed up to 13. "What do you intend on doing with me?"

90 minutes later.

"...don't tell me you learned THAT trick while you were gone." Sand says, smirking.

Re: 90 minutes later.

"Call it creativity for your benefit." She steals some more of the blanket to pull over them, then flops tiredly against him.

The truth is, with the entity came a strange sort of inspiration and deeper sight to a great many things. Corrine's still getting used to what that is and how much of that is hers. It's good to be back, and damn it's good just to be in his presence. "And, if I did," she adds, "It's because I was thinking of you. Which I was; when I could remember this plane at all."

Re: 90 minutes later.

"I know...you...it...sang 'Sentimental Journey' to me while we were trying to contact you." Sand exhales. "At least I know my general stamina isn't tied to my powers."

Re: 90 minutes later.

"I remember, vaguely. Like you were there but weren't."

She giggles and leans over him, planting a kiss on his nose. "No, but I guess it's nice to know. You're still you." And whether he knows it or not, "I wasn't expecting anything less. Why, do you feel different?"

Re: 90 minutes later.

Sand nods. "My connection to the earth...the fault lines, the tectonic plates...it's not there. It's not catastrophic, but it's NOTICEABLE. Hector's off on somesuch but said he'd get to rewriting my DNA to its former state when he gets back.

"The catch is that it would be rewritten to the last DNA sample the JSA had of me. Before the Enchantress, before everything." He sighs. "I'd be silicoid-based again."

Re: 90 minutes later.

That-- Already the chatter is starting, telling her what this all means, like references in a dictionary. Putting mute on that sound is a convenient thing she's had to learn to do.

Before Corrine even asks what this means for them No children she's going to ask the right question. This is about him. "Do you want to? Change back, I mean? Will it affect your memory?"

Re: 90 minutes later.

"It shouldn't." Sand says. "The brain can be isolated from the rest of the mojo so that I'd retain my memories...besides." He playfully pokes her in a tickle spot . "You're too memorable to forget."

He sighs. "Part of me isn't sure I want to go back to that. Part of me also feels like a field liability to the Outsiders if I don't."

Re: 90 minutes later.

Corrine giggles, fidgeting out of the tickle. "Try not to think about it like that! We'll always be behind you, and you'll always be the guy-- the best guy, one of the smartest and most experienced-- that we chose to lead us."

It might make him an easier target, yes; that doesn't sit well with her. She can watch his back, but what if? She props an arm under her chin and rests against his chest. "It's your choice, and no one's going to hold it against you if you don't. If you do--" She sighs, still thinking. "No kids, huh?"
